||In the hills above downtown Monterey Park, this garden area is located along popular hiking, biking and jogging paths. The garden had been planted with turf and other water-intensive plants, which were removed for this project. The primary educational value of the Demonstration Garden is its inclusion of several different landscaping concepts, informational plaques and marker signs which identify many of the plant species. The re-modeled park features a variety of water-wise irrigation methods, and hardscapes including mulch, benches and boulders that further conserve water.
