Management

The District employs a small professional staff to implement and manage the programs that import and distribute replacement water, generate electricity, build relevant partnerships, and educate the community on the need for effective water conservation.



DARIN KASAMOTO, General Manager, has been with the District since 1997. He was hired as the Assistant Manager and was appointed to the position of General Manager in 2004. He previously was employed for nine years by Los Angeles County Department of Public Works as a civil engineer. Darin has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University in Civil Engineering, and a Master of Science Degree from California State University Long Beach in Civil Engineering. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California.

 


ED HILLS, Assistant General Manager, has been with the District since 1989. In 2006, Ed was promoted to the position of Supervising System Operator/Inspector from the position of Senior Operator/Inspector. Ed has been intimately involved in the design, engineering and maintenance of all District infrastructure projects, including the District's pipeline and hydro-electric facility, in the past 26 years. Most recently, Ed managed the complete replacement of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system (SCADA).

 


HEADQUARTERS

The Water District’s administrative headquarters is a small one-story office building located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the Azusa foothills. Offices, a conference room, computer monitoring equipment, equipment storage, and parking are located at the facility.
